There are many days when we need to go to the bank to get some important task done but find that the bank is closed. For your ease and comfort, we have listed down the holidays on which the banks are expected to remain closed. 17 April Wednesday Mahavir Jayanti The birth anniversary of the twenty-fourth and last Tirthankara of Jainism, Lord Mahavir. It is also known as Mahavir Janma Kalyanak. It is the most important festival of the Jains and thus, on this day, the banks remain closed.

06 October Sunday Durga Puja Ashtami It is also known as Maha Ashtami or Durga Ashtami. Durga Ashtami falls on the eighth day of Navratri. On this day, the eighth incarnation of Goddess Durga, Goddess Mahagauri. On this day, people also observe Kanya Pujan or Kanjka at their homes to honour feminism and female power.
06 October Sunday Durga Maha Navami Puja It is the ninth day of the nine-day long festival of Navratri. On this day, the ninth incarnation of Goddess Durga, Goddess Siddhidatri is venerated. Durga Puja on Maha Navami is usually started with Mahasnan (great bath)and Shodashopachara Puja.

10 November Sunday Eid-e-Milad Eid-e-Milad is an Islamic festival that marks the birth anniversary as well as the death anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. The day is a gazetted national holiday. Thus, banks remain closed on the day of Eid-e-Milad.
12 November Tuesday Guru Nanak Jayanti Guru Nanak Jayanti is a festival of the Sikhs. It is also known as Guru Nanak's Prakash Utsav or Gurpurab. It celebrates the birth anniversary of the first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak.
