Vasant Panchami is also known as Shree Panchami, Saraswati Poojan, and Saraswati Pooja etc. Every year, Vasant Panchami festival is celebrated on the fifth day of Shukla paksh (bright fortnight period) of the lunar month of Magh. It means this festival falls at the end of January or beginning of February month every year. This year this festival is on January 28, 2012.
In all parts of India, Vasant Panchami is celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm and fervor. In North India, Vasant Panchami is also pronounced as Basant Panchami, and this day is very auspicious especially for Children and students.
