What is Feng Shui - About Feng Shui

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art which stands for “wind and water” in Chinese. Originated from china about three centuries ago Feng Shui is an ancient geomancy Chinese art; suggests the ideal placement of furniture and objects to achieve the perfect balance in dwellers space and thus in life. Feng shui also has mystical powers to cast away the evil allied to the residence.

People often get confused Feng Shui with the Indian Vastu; unlike Vastu the Feng Shui only enhances the surrounding energy of the dweller through proper positioning and changing the elements of the room e.g. if you fill colours in a crooked canvas or it has a hole in it then you will not get the desired phenomenal art work hence your efforts will go waste similarly feng shui is art of orientation of furniture and objects (mirror, vase, flowers, showpieces, etc) if building has some architectural deformity then it will be hard to attain the benefits out of Feng Shui exercise.

Principles of feng shui gyrate around “chi”; which is regarded as energy of life according to Chinese mythology. Chi energy flows around us and effect our life in every way be it health aspect or in terms of profession. The exercise of Feng shui helps to render the optimum balance and harmony through the location and orientation of the environment. Feng Shui is basically study of time, space and people.

Feng Shui stands for wind and water. As wind and water are natural elements; it is believed that wind is the earth’s breath, and water is the invigorating lifeblood of everything that exists on our planet.

Both wind and water have remarkable energy that drives Feng Shui's practices and skills to fill one’s life with constructive energies. Feng Shui, at its very core is a means of arranging the basic elements of life—and all the things that you surround yourself with on a daily basis— to generate the most favourable and pleasant flow of essential life energy similar to the flow of water and wind.
