The Neyyattam ritual is performed on the first day, and the Thirukalasattu ritual on the second day.

Saga Dawa

This is a famous festival celebrated amongst the followers of Buddhism, when monasteries and religious temples are decorated and rituals are performed. During this period, the temple is shut for three consecutive days, as the Mother Shakti Devi Kamakhya undergoes her annual menstruation cycle. Ganga Dussehra

Ganga Dussehra is an auspicious occasion and observed amongst Hindus widely with utter devotion and passion. It is on this day that Ganga Maiyya or Goddess Ganga ascended on the Earth or Mortal World from Heaven or Swarg. Also known as Gangavataran, this is a 10-day festival celebrated with grandeur in Haridwar, Varanasi, Rishikesh and Prayagraj (Allahabad) and concluded on Shukla Dashami. Devotees on this day bathe in the holy river, recite mantras and venerate the Goddess to get rid of past or present life sins and bad deeds.   • Mithuna Sankranti: The planetary transit of Sun in Gemini is known as Mithuna Sankranti. On this day, Lord Sun is venerated and offered Arghya.
  • Yogini Ekadashi: On the day of Yogini Ekadashi, one must wake up early, bathe and perform the Kalash Sthapana ritual. Lord Vishnu is venerated on this auspicious day, and one wishes for the elimination of any past curse or sin.
  • Ashadha Amavasya: Going on sacred pilgrimages or performing the sacred bath on the day of Ashadha Amavasya incurs auspicious results. Anyone performing the ritual of Pind Daan gains auspicious results.
