The Sunrisers Hyderabad was formed on 25th October in the year 2012. It replaced the Deccan Chargers after it was terminated by the BCCI. With the introduction of the new team, the new logo and the new theme song of the team were also introduced. 20 players from the Deccan Chargers were retained whereas a few new players were inducted in the team. The owner of the team is Kalanidhi Maran, who is the chairman and M.D of the Sun Network. The captain of the team is Kumar Sangakkara. The team is expected to perform better than the last time. The team won the IPL 2009 under the captaincy of Adam Gilchrist.
