Teachers Day 2013 : Astrological Analysis of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan
By VGR Pavan

Among all relations we have, the most important is Mother-Child relation. Next to that is the relation between Teacher-Student (Guru- Sishya). The former is a blood relation whereas the later is a “divine” one. Here I wish to convey my feeling that there is a difference between the terms “Guru” and “Acharya”. Guru is a matured soul who understood the spirit of this creation whereas an Acharya is a wandering teacher who propagates Philosophy in various parts of the world. (ex: Sankaracharya). To pay regards or respect to our Guru we celebrate “Guru Poornima”.

In Olden days there are “Gurukulas” where children are joined for their educational pursuit till their teenage. But now, the picture is completely changed and we have schools and colleges (also universities) to pursue our education. We join our children in schools at their tender age till they develop into an adult. This is a very important phase in our life and what we learn during this time will become our character or personality in later age. And the real sculptor who chisels our character is our “Teacher”.

Teacher will sow the seeds of Education and grows in us the tree of knowledge which in later age bears the fruits of Wisdom. That is the prominence of a respected teacher in our life. Every country celebrates/reserves a day called “Teachers Day “for paying respect to these candid people. In India we celebrate this day on September 05th, the birth day of a Scholar, Philosopher, Pioneer and a Genius and above all a versatile teacher named “Sri Sarvepalli RadhaKrishnan”.

He is an outstanding educationalist and a monumental author, his works are well known for the excellent depth of language and theme. He worked as a professor, vice-chancellor, Principal, Vice-president, President and representative for Eastern philosophy in various foreign universities. He had a numerous awards to his credit and the important ones being the “Barath Rathna” and Knight Hood from the British Academy etc. As an enthusiastic follower of Astrology I used the Birth time Rectification method (KP) and his fixed his time of birth as 11.57 AM on 05-09-1888 in Tiruthani near Chennai.
A little navigation in his horoscope will clearly show how a genius can be depicted through a horoscope.

To become a scholar strong Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury are needed as Saturn shows patient effort, Mercury shows grasp and intelligence the remaining Jupiter will indicate the wisdom of that soul. Also the strength of Asc., 5th house, 9th house and 11th house can not be over ruled. Though 3rd shows tendency to study and 4th shows the academic education 5th and 9th are more important than them. Jupiter and Saturn are the chief significators for philosophy and if hey are strongly connected with 4,5,9 and 11 houses one will definitely have sound knowledge in that subject, says Guruji Sri KSK.

Now, in his horoscope 4th sub lord is Venus in the star of Sun and sub of Mercury, Sun is lord of 10th in 10 and Mercury is lord of 11ht in the star of Sun again lord of 11.Saturn is aspecting Venus from the star of Mercury and in turn receives aspect from Jupiter the 2nd lord and conjoined with Mars the 6th lord. Venus rules the star on the cusps of 2,6,10 houses. He had excellent education with scholarships throughout Venus Mahadasa.

5th cusp the house of Wisdom, while the 9th relating to Knowledge, is in the sub of Venus the 12th lord in 10 in the star of Sun the Soul of the universe. Sun the 10th lord in 10th with excellent position near the Meridian gave him highest elevation for his wisdom. Jupiter the 5th lord aspecting the 5th house and conjoined with Mars the asc lord clearly shows that he enjoys his thought and that is his “life mission”.

9th cusp sub lord is Jupiter, lord of 2, 5 in 12 (Chalit) in the star of Saturn and sub of Mercury. Saturn the 3,4 lord in 9th in the star of 11th lord Mercury. Jupiter is with Mars the 6th lord and applying sextile aspect with Mercury. Thus promises Post Graduation in ‘Philosophy” with a well deserved success.

11th cusp the important one is in the sub of Mercury the 11th lord and the karaka for communication is in the star of Sun the 10th lord in 10 and in the sub of Jupiter the 5th lord reveals that his desire will be to propagate whatever he realized. Note that Sun is for Advitha (Single form of the Almighty). He had his highest political elevation during Jupiter Mahadasa the strongest planet for 1,2,5,6,9,10 houses.

In memory of this great man we are celebrating our Teacher’s Day. Here it is apt to quote him about teacher’s day "Instead of celebrating my birthday, it would be my proud privilege if 5 September is observed as Teachers' Day." That is an ample testimony of his simplicity and impartial mind. Mother India will definitely be proud to have such an Emerald in her crown. With respects to all those Teachers who designs the next generations for a better cultural, moral and ethical life. Knowledge speaks but Wisdom listens….
