We admire Hanuman from depth of our soul. Hanuman is said to be the ‘Param Bhakt (great devotee) of Lord Rama. Hanuman showers his mercy on those who deeply worship Lord Rama. Hanuman ji is known as God of strength and power. We may destroy any kind of fear by just memorizing the name of Hanuman ji. The great deeds of Hanuman ji can be beautifully understood by reciting the epic of Ramayan. Hanuman ji was born to Kesari and Anjani, and thus we regard him ‘Kesari Nandan’ and ‘Anjani Putra’. Lord Hanuman is also embodiment of Lord Shiva. In Hindu Mythology, he is also believed to be the son of Vayu (one of the Hindu deities) and is honored as ‘Pawan Putra’. Mahaveer Hanuman has supreme power, and he is immortal. Shri Hanuman has various names. We honor him with names Bajrangbali, Anjaneya, Akshahantrey, Bhakthavatsala (protector of devotees),Chiranjeevi (Eternal Being), Dashabahu (Ten Armed), and much more.
During Hanuman Jayanti, temples or shrines of Hanuman ji are wonderfully embellished using vivid lights and flowers. Glorious idols or pictures of Hanuman ji are beautifully decorated in temples. Many devotees bring pictures or images of Bal Hanuman (child Hanuman) and establish it in home. During such propitious occasion, adores get early in morning, take bath and religiously worship Hanuman ji to remove their impurities. Reciting Sundar Kand, the fifth book in the Ramayan, is also one of the important ritual attached to Hanuman Jayanti. In Hanuman temples, pundits and devotees sing devotional songs, bhajan, kirtan and arti of Hanuman ji. Most people visit Hanuman temples and offer their adoration spiritually. They also apply tilak or Lal Sindur to Hanuman during this occasion, as Lal Sindur is favorite of Hanuman ji. In all temples of Lord Rama and Sita, murti of Hanuman is necessarily installed. Without attaching image of Hanuman, Ram temples are seemed incomplete, as Hanuman is param and priya Bhakta of Lord Rama and Sita.
Hindu people chant Hanuman Chalisa, Hanuman Stuti, and other Hanuman invocation during on this auspicious time to please deity Hanuman. In Hanuman Jayanti, religious people and Hanuman devotees offer varieties of Prasad (blessed food), various types of sweets, and colorful flowers, especially lal jasud (red shoe flower) to delight deity Hanuman.
