Economy is the backbone of a country as also for the entire world. There are several indicators to measure the economic growth which inter-alia, include GDP (Gross Domestic Product), Data on Industrial and Manufacturing Productions, job data, employment figure, data on agricultural produces, etc. The overall health of the economy both at the local and world level is directly reflected through the stock markets because stock markets are highly sensitive to the economic conditions. The other important area is the job market. The weather conditions are also equally important for economic growth especially, in countries like India where Monsoon plays a vital role for its economy and agricultural produces. As such, our main focus would be to highlight the probable astrological scenario in the world stock markets with particular emphasize on Indian Stock Markets vis-à-vis job opportunities and likely weather conditions in the country during the year 2011.

INDIAN AND WORLD STOCK MARKETS IN 2011

According to astrology, Jupiter is the main planet of real economic expansion and Saturn is the main planet for economic contraction and recession. Rahu is the planet for economic boom, which are a euphoric stage and a state of overestimation of the economic health, whereas Ketu stands for economic compression and extreme pessimism when stock markets world over get oversold. This is an extreme state of pessimism wherefrom optimism starts its renewed journey for a new bull phase in order to ultimately getting stampede and pasted in the condition of utter bearishness. This rotation is commonly known as economic or business cycle. Year 2011 is ushering with Saturday as the first day of the year. As such, the first trading session of the year would be at 0900 hours on Monday 3rd January 2011 when both the premier Indian Stock Market browsers viz. Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) would commence their trading journey for the English Calendar Year 2011 in the Hora of Jupiter.   Jupiter would be transiting his own sign Pisces till May 8, 2011 and then have ingress to sign Aries where it would be transiting throughout the remaining part of the year 2011. Jupiter would get combust from March 24, 2011 to April 21, 2011 for getting closer to the Sun. While in Pisces, it would be aspecting the signs Cancer ruled by Moon, Virgo ruled by Mercury and Scorpio ruled by Mars. From Aries, it would be aspecting signs Leo ruled by Sun, Libra ruled by Venus and Sagittarius ruled by Jupiter himself. The Saturn would be transiting in Virgo till 15th of November 2011 and would be entering into Libra, which is his sign of exaltation and remain there till the year-end.  Rahu would be transiting Sagittarius upto June 6, 2011 and then would enter Scorpio and remain there till the remaining part of the year. Similarly, Ketu would have ingress in sign Taurus from June 07, 2011 onwards. Both Scorpio and Taurus are the respective sign of debilitations of Rahu and Ketu.

The first trading of the year 2011 would be commenced in dark half of the lunar phase in Chaturdashi Tithi, which is termed as Rikta Tithi and hence inauspicious. Moon in pungent Moola Nakshtra ruled by Ketu is equally inauspicious. These point towards manipulative and scandalous activities or freak trades in the stock market, which are likely to come into surface, subsequently. However, Muhrat ascendant being in short and dynamic Shravan Nakshtra is not that inauspicious. Mars who is the ascendant lord of the natural zodiac being combust in the 12th house with reference to the ascendant of the Opening Bell Chart (OBC) of the first trading session of the year is also not likely to be going down well for a further bull run with a year horizon. Moon in the 12th house in conjunction with Sun in the Muhrat chart of the first trading session of the year with Rahu afflicting Sun, Moon and Mars may prove to be counterproductive for a significant rise of the major stock market indices of the country. However, the Upachaya houses of the Muhrat chart are occupied by Jupiter (3rd), Ketu (6th), Mercury and Venus (11th) with 10th house being unoccupied. These planetary placements in Upachaya houses would contain downslide in the market.  The above astrological factors along with transit of the slow moving planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu points towards mainly a consolidating phase for the Indian stock market during the year 2011. The cues emanating from the last Diwali Muhrat Trading pattern, which is considered as an Annual Trend Indicator for Indian Stock Markets for the period running upto next Diwali Muhrat Trading, is also supportive of a consolidating phase only. The domestic stock markets are, therefore, likely to be traded in a broad range during the year 2011 without any significant increase or decline. There may be some corrections in the Indian browses during the 2nd half of year. However, the following sectors are likely to remain active during the year 2011 because of the interplay of the celestial bodies in the zodiac.
DURING THE FIRST HALF OF THE YEAR 2011

• Banking and Financial
• Export Sector
• FMCG
• Gems and Jewellery
• Shipping Sector
• Textile Sector

IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR 2011

• Automobile Sector
• Capital Goods
• Cement Sector
• Crude oil and Natural Gas Sector
• Health Care Sector
• Infrastructure Sector
• Metal Sector
• Pharmaceutical Sector
• Realty Sector
There may be some rise in the prices of Crude and base metals during the 2nd half of the year.

LIKELY SCENARIO IN THE WORLD STOCK MARKETS DURING THE YEAR 2011

With the globalization of the economy, the stock markets all over the world run in tandem and replicate the almost same picture. Decoupling effect is merely seen in sporadic cases owing to the local economic or political issues or in the event of natural disaster having a bearing limited to the local economy only in a particular region or country. The important stock exchanges of the world are Nasdaq, Dow Jones (USA), Nikkei (Japan), FTSE (UK), DAX (France), and S&P TSX Composite to name a few.  The Nasdaq and Dow Jones are the two major stock exchanges of USA, which is the largest economy of the world. In the year 2011, the Nasdaq, which is located at New York, would commence its trading session on Monday the 3rd January 2011 at 0930 hours (USA time) in Amavashya Tithi (Dark Moon Day), which is not so inauspicious in astrological parlance. Ascendant is Taurus with both Venus (Ascendant Lord) and Mercury (2nd & 5th lord) aspecting it in mutual conjunction. Jupiter in the 11th house in his own sign Pisces and Saturn in 5th house Virgo have made the position better for the US Stock Markets. However, the placement of malefic Gulika in the Ascendant is inauspicious. Therefore, the US stock market seems to perform well in comparison to India but the overall sentiment is not likely to be gung-ho. Other world markets normally follow the suit of US stock markets with some percentage of differences here and there due to local factors.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN 2011

Significant creation or additions of jobs in the organised private sectors, public sectors or in various government departments are not likely during the current year. However, there would be good opportunities of job in the banking and financial sectors, Insurance companies, Media and Entertainment sectors besides normal recruitment by the government. The job prospects in the above sectors look better from the middle of 2011. The first half of the year would witness better job opportunities in the sectors like Power, Information Technology, Oil and Gas, Coal and Mining, Automobiles, Realty and Infrastructure, etc. Campus selections by the reputed companies is likely to be more in this year in comparison to the preceding year. The professionally qualified people would be in the better edge and will get appropriate placement in terms of pay and perquisites because of the aspect of the Jupiter in the 2nd house of the horoscope of India, which is also the 7th sign of the natural zodiac.

MONSOON AND WEATHER CONDITIONS YEAR 2011
The year 2011 ushers with Saturn in Virgo and combination of four planets, all malefics, in sign Sagittarius. There is likely to be huge rainfall in some parts of the country resulting in destruction of standing crops due to flood. Other parts of the country are likely to witness draughts. The food inflation is likely to remain unabated. When the Southern part of India is likely to receive adequate rainfall, the parts of North India is likely to receive heavy rainfall resulting in a flood like situation. The Western and Eastern parts of India are likely to receive meager monsoon rainfall.
