Third Day of Navratri is dedicated to the divine power of Devi Chandraghanta. She wears Chandra (Half Moon) on her forehead in the shape of a bell, thus known as Chandraghanta. She acquires great strength and symbolizes bravery. She rides on a lion, her bright golden personality with ten hands and three eyes mesmerizes her devotees. She removes all the negativity and troubles of life and bless her devotees with peace and prosperity.

The rituals performed for worshiping Devi Chandraghanta are very simple which starts with the honor of all gods and goddesses, followed by worshiping of all planets and all the family members such as Laxmi, Jaya, Vijaya, etc. Devi Chandraghanta is worshiped after worshiping these gods and goddesses. Lord Shiva and Brahma are also worshiped at last.
