Also known as Gangavataran, this is a 10-day festival celebrated with grandeur in Haridwar, Varanasi, Rishikesh and Prayagraj (Allahabad) and concluded on Shukla Dashami. Devotees on this day bathe in the holy river, recite mantras and venerate the Goddess to get rid of past or present life sins and bad deeds.
