Vedic Astrology, Lal Kitab & KP Astrology

Today is the day when Shri KS Krishnamurti, the man behing KP System (also called Krishnamurti Paddhati), left us on 29th March 1972. This post is my tribute to that genius sole.

Astrology is a vast subject with so many books and systems. I myself have studied few of these systems including Parashari, Jaimini, Western, Lal Kitab and Krishnamurthi Paddhati. With the Internet, it has become easier to keep in touch with the latest research in this field. Shri Sheshadri Iyer, and Gopal Krishna Meena etc. are some names that we see quoted in various magazines and books as genuine researchers. We also see astrologers like BV Raman are regarded as people who revitalized astrology during the dooming period. There are others like Pt. Roop Chand Joshi, creator of Lal Kitab, who also contributed astrology with his fresh thoughts and unique approach. There are few more names that we can add to this list of astrology contributors, though it is not the purpose of this post.

Among all these learned and unique souls, I think that Shri KS Krishnamurti held one very special position. There are various reasons to say that. First of all, he is probably the only astrologer who thought fresh and innovative. Unlike Shri Sheshadri Iyer and lots of other astrologers, who tried to find answers of their questions in existing texts, KSK never feared to experiment and adopt something altogether new and different. He also never feared to use harsh language for the methods that don't work. One another important feature of Shri KSK's teaching is that he taught understanding the mind of 21st century. 21st century mind wanted a method which is well defined in nature and produce results continuously without any ambiguity of application.

I normally fear calling astrology a science because I think that astrology is much beyond the science and cannot be explained using present tools and methods of science. Though I have no fear to say that KP System has tried to bridge the gap between science and astrology. Being a software professional, I personally believe that there will be a time when we will be able to create a software programs which will be able to predict accurately certain aspects of human life. I am able to say this just because we have a system called KP System. I can not think of any other system which can take computerization of predictive astrology to that level.

Another important feature of KSK is that he never claimed that god came in his dream and told the secret of astrology or he has some divine power that helped him. He always emphasized that the practical research is required and that is the only way to improve astrology. He himself shown that approach and also cleared the path for future researches.

The researches like usage of placidus house division system with nirayan zodiac, 249 divisions of zodiac, sub lord, planet gives result of it's nakshatra, KP Horary are amazing contributions by a single person in one single life. Not only he figured these out, he also told use how to use all these collectively in a form of a system. It is not that I am being emotional due to Mahanirvana divas. In fact, these are the thoughts that come in my mind whenever I study astrology. In whatever small I learnt in astrology, based on that I can say that the KP System is the biggest advancement in astrology during a long period.

1. Method to be followed under K.P.
   Assumption;The charts of the Boy and the Girl are prepared accurately following K.P. principles for erecting charts (including verification of birth particulars by RULING PLANETS method ) before further proceeding for matching.
2. K.P.D.P No 1. Ascendant Sub Lords in the charts of the Boy and the Girl should be natural friends or equal and should not be enemies i.e. natural enemies
3. K.P.D.P.No.2: Ascendant Sub Lords and the 7th Cusp Sub Lords in the respective charts of the Boy and .the Girl should be natural friends or equals not natural enemies.This brings happiness in married life.
   K:P.D.P.No.3 The Ascendant Signs of the Boy and| the Girl should be
   compatible i.e should be Fire and Fire, Water and Water, Fire and Air, Water and Earth and Air and Water.
4. K.P.D.P. No4: Work out the Aspects under the Western System of Aspects taking
   into account the orbs of the Planets, between the Ascendant Sign Lords of the Boy and the Girl in their respective charts.If they are favourable it is a sure indication of good harmony between them.
5. K.P.D.P.No.5 :a:I Work out the Aspects formed (by taking into account the orb of the
   respective Planets) between the 7th Cusp Sub Lords of the Boy and the Girl, in thier respective charts.
   b: ii) See where the 7th Cusp Sub Lord in the Girl's chart is occupying in her chart.Similarly find out the placement of the 7th Cusp Sub Lord in the boy's chart and work out the Aspect formed between these two by taking into accounts the orbs of the respective Planets. If the aspects thus formed in respect of (i) and (ii) above are favourable it shows good compatibility, good understanding between them.
6. K.P.D.P.No.6: Birth Star Lord of the Boy should occupy a favourable house i.e. 2,3,5,7,9 or 11 in the Girl's chart and vice versa.
7. K.P.D.P.N0.7: 7th Cusp Sign, Star and Sub Lord of Boy should be the Ruling Planets of the Girl at the time of birth and similarly the 7th Cusp Sign, Star and Sub Lords of the Girl should be the Ruling Planets of the Boy at the time of his birth. The occupant of the 7th in the respective charts can be taken as an R.P. for this purpose.
8. K.P.D.P.No.8 The Ruling Planets of the Boy should be the significators for 2,7,11 for the Girl and vice versa.
9. K.P.D.P.No.9: See whether the 11th Cusp Sub Lords in the chart of the Boy and the Girl are in any way connected to houses 6,8 and 12 in any manner in their respective charts.If they are not connected it will indicate harmony, happiness and pleasurable life.
10. K.P.D.P.No.-lO ;
    i) At the time of matching, if either is running 'A' Dasa, 'B' Bukthi and 'C' Anthara and note whether A,B,C are the Ruling Planets at the time of birth of the other.
    ii) The Planets deposited in the constellation of above A,B,C, Planets will be the Ruling Planets at the time of birth of the other. Either (i) or (ii) above should be there as per the dictum of our Guruji and it is a certainty and in no case it will fail.

Shri Sunil Gondhalekar, editor Nakshatrache Dene - a famous Marathi magazine on KP System, has shared some very useful experience on Stock Market predictions. Here is a brief -

• I consider Jupiter as main source for the overall trend of market
• I look at it's starlord/sublord/and sub's starlord
• Also i consider mercury as a key planet for weekly position same as Jupiter
• If, someone is connected with Mars, Hershal, Jupiter then teji is indicated
• If connected to Saturn, Mandi is observed
• If connected with Neptune, Mandi with some fraud observed
• If connected to Rahu, volatility is observed
• If connected other planets other than mentioned, regular teji/mandi
• If connected with pluto, big fall in market

In our KP System discussion forum, we are having an intense discussion on the fast moving point 'Fortuna' (also called Pars Fortuna or Part of Fortune). Shri K. S. Krishamurthi, the inventor of KP System, mentioned about Fortuna in the second reader, but he really didn't given much detail. The application and examples are also missing. While doing some googling, I found this article very useful. Please check it out.

Books and Books and Books and ……. So I am writing a lot about books. I have written about books on classical astrology and books on Lal Kitab (at least you have download links now.) I am also planning to write all books available on Lal Kitab subject. Recently there are lots of books on this subject that are not just translation/transliteration.

Anyway, I am often asked about what book one should read to lean KP System. Nowadays there are many books on the subject. KP's own publications brings few new books every year in the market. But I have my own opinion. IMHO one should read only six readers by Sri K.S. Krishnamurti i.e. -

1. Casting the Horoscope (1st reader)
2. Fundamental Principles of Astrology (2nd reader)
3. Predictive Stellar Astrology (3rd reader)
4. Marriage, Married life and children (4th reader)
5. Transit Gocharapala Nirayam (5th reader)
6. Horary Astrology (6th reader)

These books will give you sufficient idea of the system. I am not very sure but probably "Astrology & Ahrishta", the magazine edited by Sri KSK, is also available in hard-bound format. If that is available, you can purchase them. Those are another good way to learn Krishnamurti Padhdhati. Other than Sri KSK's own books, there are not too many good books to learn the system. I remember two other books those are sufficient good. One is "Nakshatra Chintamani" (as far as I remember the name) by Mr. Bhat (again I don't remember the full name of author). This book is available in xerox format only. Other books are three books set by Mr. Jyotindra Hasve. Primarily these books are in Marathi and I am not aware whether Hindi/English edition is available or not. But I guess it would be available. As I told in introduction there are many books and many authors. But these are the books that I like most.

P.S.: I also receive lots of requests for available KP software. I am planning to write in detail about that. Meanwhile you can have a look on KP astrology software of the company promoting this blog.
